Twins Korean Restaurant @Tanjong Pagar

Celebrated my friend's birthday here cos she wanna eat Korean Army stew! The place was recommended by evil sista who had eaten here a while ago. Food is said to be pretty authentic as the restaurant owner(s) is a pair of real life Korean twins.

The eatery is located about 5-6mins walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station. The space isn't very big so reservation is recommended to have confirmed seating.

On top of the Army stew, we also ordered Korean fried chicken in different style for sharing, and snacked on Korean pancakes and Jap Chae too. Food was indeed delicious but serving portions were a tad tiny which makes them a wee bit pricey.

My personal fave was the Spicy Dakgangjung $22++ (fried chicken with rice cakes), the special sauce and the slightly crispy and chewy rice cakes were double thumbs up. The Yangnyum Wings $10++ was pretty yummy too. The rest of the items were not too bad but no wow factor.

Spicy Dakgangjung $22+

Soy & Lemon Kkanpungki $22+

Original Fried chicken $18+

Yangnyum Wings $10+

Jap Chae $15+

Seafood Pancake $20+

Kimchi Pancake $20+

Army stew $40+

We enjoyed our dinner at Twins, food was generally good but the pricing kinda dampened the dining experience a little. There are many Korean eateries in SG offering similar menu, especially the Army stew, better ones can easily be found elsewhere. For Jap Chae and Korean pancakes I still prefer Hansik ones, they are cheaper and had loads more seafood inside, plus they're tastier. Drinks are not cheap either, even ice water cost $0.50 per serving. Fortunately, they have not started charging for GST yet, so for now buying takeaways is probably a much better option.

Chock Full Of Beans @Changi Village

CFOB had been known for their wonderful 3D Latte art iced beverage for quite some time now. Recently, it drew a bigger crowd due to its strategic location for great Pokemon hunting. To welcome this Poke-craze, they have created Pokemon theme 3D Latte art to match the gaming mood.

The cafe, located at a corner of block 4 at Changi Village, has half of their seating capacity indoors with aircon, and the other half Al fresco style.

During weekdays, they served set lunches and ala carte menu for dinners. On weekends, all day breakfast/brunch menu is available till 5pm. Free Wifi is available for patrons after order is placed, look for the login details on the bill. There is free flow ice water for self service too.

The must order item here is none other than the ice latte drinks with 3D Latte art, average cost per drink is $6.50+, alcoholic ones are pricier. The staffs would advice that the Latte art could take 30mins to prepare per drink, and designs are randomly decided based on the barista's mood. They were definitely well worth the wait, check them out here.

Iced Walnut Brownie Latte $6.50

Iced Mocha $6.50+

Iced Earl Grey Latte $6.50+

Iced Hazelnut Latte $6.50+

For hot coffee, 2D latte arts are also rather popular here. They have a new pretty looking lemonade drink with a bear jello in it, called Pink Lagoon. Good choice for non coffee drinkers.

Cappuccino $4.50+

Pink Lagoon $7.50+

As for food choices, they do serve pretty decent tasting western fare here. We had pasta Set Lunch $14.90+ (mains + soup/drink) on our first visit, they were delish. On the subsequent visit, I ordered their Big Breakfast $17+, portion was huge and filling, nice.

Chicken Pesto pasta

Seafood Aglio olio pasta

Big breakfast $17+

Grilled chicken sandwich $12+

Mushroom soup

CFOB is a nice little cafe to hang out with friends and sip coffee. Food and drinks offering are affordable (no 10% service charge) and of decent quality. Despite not charging for service, their waiting staffs do provide warm and friendly service to their customers. I would go back again just for their adorable 3D Latte drinks!
