Brown Feather Hotel at Seminyak Bali

For my short foodie trip to Bali, I had to find a centrally located hotel in Seminyak area that is accessible to all the 11 eateries I've planned to conquer in 4D3N. And so I found this little charming vintage theme B&B hotel located along Jalan Batu Belig, a street lined with many new exciting eateries, and a short walk to the now popular foodie heaven Jalan Petitenget where the most talked about restaurants are located.

Brown Feather is really small, it houses only 16 rooms in the two storey property. It has a tiny pool and an open concept kitchen/dining area opposite a small 24h front desk office, that's about it. The rooms are decorated with vintage furnishings that are mostly made with recycled materials, very nostalgic feel.

The TV had Channel NewsAsia!

Complimentary coffee/tea making facilities

The hotel surrounding is dressed with overflowing amount of plants, even the roofs are not spared, making this place look like a little sanctuary away from the bustling streets.

The hotel at night...

The kitchen and breakfast area where simple fare is whipped up daily for the hotel guests. The food served here is the no frills kind, do keep your expectations low. We only ate BF once and skipped it for the rest of our stay here.

The fried rice was not fantastic at all...

Hubby was ok with his western BF

This hotel has a lot of character, is reasonably priced and sitting in an excellent location. Everything was good accept for the squeaky/shaky bed which affected our sleep. That spring mattress (could have been a vintage piece) shakes terribly like an earthquake had happened whenever a slight movement was made by a person resting on it, and squeaks real loud at the same time! Compared to that, the uninspiring BF was a minor issue as there's a lot of food choices outside the hotel, and we truly didn't mind skipping it. I have mixed feelings with this one cos it's such a charming hotel and the staffs were amazing, but is it worth compromising sleep quality for this?
