Tulipmania 2014, Gardens by the Bay

Its the time of the year again...KLM posted on their FB that they are flying in 50,000 tulips from Netherlands, 30k more than last year's 20k tulips. They are also having Miffy as their official mascot for this event.

To avoid the crazy crowd, I took leave on Thursday to go see the tulips at Garden by the Bay. Tickets for the Flower Dome is $12 for Singapore citizens, PAssion card holders has 10% discount. Depending on the route you take, you may arrive at the ticket booth via this decorated covered walkway.

The entrance leading to the Cooled Conservatory. Everybody gets a Miffy at the entrance.

This year, Dutch houses are featured as the main decor theme for the tulip exhibition. Other usual suspects are the windmills and wooden clogs.

The center piece of the exhibition, Tulips surrounded traditional Dutch houses. I feel this was nicer than last year's Windmill and tulip fields setup.

Tulips, tulips and more tulips...

No tulip garden is complete without the best supporting flower, Hyacinths. This year we saw purple, white and the new peach color ones, but we're missing the pink ones from last year.

I also didn't see any daffodils and dahlias which are also common flowers found in Keukenhof gardens. Hmm...

Some other flowers we saw at the Flower Dome..
